Canadian IT company CGI has signed a seven-year partnership with NATS to develop air traffic operations across the UK and to modernise the company’s digital infrastructure.
NATS, the UK’s lead supplier of air traffic control services, operates at 14 UK airports and administers all UK airspace from two air traffic control centres.
The seven-year deal is the result of a year of collaboration and will provide data centres and hosting services to NATS’ key digital infrastructure, increasing its resilience, flexibility, and scalability.
Tim Bullock, supply chain & facilities director at NATS, emphasised a reliance on CGI’s expertise.
Bullock said: “NATS is currently implementing a transformational technology programme to deliver the next generation solutions that will continue to keep the skies safe into the future and support our customers worldwide and we will be relying on CGI’s expertise and proven capability to build and support the digital infrastructure.
